Classroom Rules: P – Play it Safe A – Accept Responsibility W – Winners Always Learn S – Show Respect Discipline Plan for Our Classroom Children will be able to earn points on Class Dojo. Class Dojo can be viewed online and you can use an app for your phone to view how your child’s behavior is for the day. If your child chooses to not follow School and Classroom Expectations, then they may lose points. If your child chooses to follow School and Classroom Expectations, then they will earn points to be redeemed for various rewards.
When Students Break My Rules… 1st Consequence: Verbal Warning 2nd Consequence: Point taken off of individual Class Dojo. 3rd Consequence: Student will have a “hall talk” with teacher for redirection. 4th Consequence: Student will have to take a time-out in another classroom. 5th Consequence: MIR (Minor Incident Report) will be filled out and parent contact via email or phone call will be made. Student will have to Lunch Detention or Alternative Recess. 6th Consequence: MIR (Minor Incident Report) will be filled out and parent contact via email or phone call will be made. Student will have to go to “Cubs Correct” for redirection for 30 minutes with written reflection. 7th Consequence and/or Severe Clause: Send to Principal, ISS/OSS and parent contact via phone call will be made.
When My Students Follow the Rules… Students that follow the rules will have the opportunity to earn points on Class Dojo. They can trade their points in for treats and other special activities.
Positive Reinforcements are: • verbal praise & recognition • Stickers & stamps • Treats from the treasure box • Special celebrations
Class Dojo
Please make sure you are connected to Class Dojo. This will help you keep up with your child's daily behavior as well as get information about events that are happening in our classroom and around the school. If you need another code to connect, please let me know and I will send one home.
Homework
Students will have homework each night. Please make sure they are practicing their math facts and reading each night.
Make-Up Work
Make-up Work is expected to be finished within two days of coming back to school.
